DSPACK was written to run under UNIX system. Although the system dependent elements were limited to minimum and isolated - much of the program is written with some use of f77 extensions of Fortran 77 compiler.
Most of the extensions are compatible with the VMS FORTRAN, however - some modifications to the code will be necessary.
At present DSPACK has been tested on HP, SunOS and RS6000. The plan is to make it available on as many UNIX platforms as necessary. A single user version is running on a Macintosh - compiled with the ABSOFT Fortran ocmpiler under MPW. With time, all the parts of the code which rely on f77 extentions will be replaced by C code.
Wherever necessary the different versions of the code are kept in the source and the C preprocessor is used to select the code for the host machine.
